Da Luz Collective present Light Box | with Diogo Da Cruz

Light Box arises from the need of reflection about young artists based in Portugal, who are specialised in light-involving works – video, photography and installations. It consists of a series of talks, during which one or two invited artists will present something (a selection of artworks, a video, a collection of photographs), through which will develop a conversation with the audience.
The aim of this project is to stimulate and increase the discourse about young art, media interactions and diverse aspects related to contemporary arts practices.

The first session of Light Box will be dedicated to Diogo Da Cruz. Through a performative show of his works, we will discuss Diogo Da Cruz’s aesthetic process and artistic view while deepening in a possible political and philosophical perspective.

Diogo da Cruz (1992) is a conceptual artist based in Lisbon. He received a BA in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fines Arts of Lisbon (2012) and a Diploma in Free Kunst from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München (2016), where he studied with the professor Hermann Pitz, and guest professors Ceal Floyer, Andrea Fraser and Tyler Coburn. He participated in the Independent Study Programme at Maumaus – Escola de Artes Visuais in Lisbon (2016). His work has been exhibited in Portugal, Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, Sweden, Bulgaria and Scotland.
